Day 13 22 August

After breakfast at the hotel, iced coffee plus scrambled eggs.
Our first outing of the day was to the killing fields. The one we visited was only a small one as they only killed 3,000. Some of the other fields had up to 400,000 buried.

It amazes me how some individuals who obtain power consider themselves above any law.
Bones from the pits

skulls from site in chronological order

Some of tools of torture
Cells where they were kept and tortured to obtain confessions before being sent to killing fields

Barbed wire on balconies to stop suicides

Rooms into which were crowded prisoners

After lunch, I had spring rolls, we drove to our home stay adventure.

We were provided dinner and the village children danced for us.
The sleeping conditions were a thin mattress on wooden floor

The house we stayed in.

The community hall in which we ate.
