Day 6 15 August

Woke up about 5.30am. As nothing around here is open until 7.30am I decided that I should organize my photos and catch up on the blog. With the temperatures being close to 40degrees my clothes became  soaked though with sweat after about 10 minutes so washing was definitely on the agenda. The hotel charged 30,000 dong for each kilo of clothes ($6 Australian is approx 100,000 Dong)

I then went out and had an English breakfast.

I then went for a walk in the old quarter. I had purchased a wide leather belt yesterday as I had inadvertently left my belt at home. I decided that a less wide belt would be useful so I also purchased a narrower belt.

The walk did not add much to what I saw yesterday afternoon.

I did take a few photos before deciding that it was lunch time.

This is a different temple
Some scenes from the old quarter.

I found a restaurant that had beer for 3,000 dong a glass.
I ordered a green papaya salad with shrimp, quite tasty, not as spicy as I was expecting.

After a restful couple of hours the majority of the group went and had a baguette roll for dinner.
My roll had pork , pate ,ham and salad. Bagettes are a common meal in Vietnam, from egg rolls for breakfast to lunch rolls, meat and salad mainly, to the same as a lazy dinner. Goes well with fresh beer.
